State Parks to Hold Meetings on the Rock Island

Please Attend Rock Island Trail Meetings!

Missouri State Parks will be holding three informational meetings on the Rock Island Corridor.  It is essential that we get as many trail supporters as possible to attend these meetings.  The meetings will be set up as informational tables, so you can just drop by any time, sign the sheet, and add your comments in support of the trail.

The three meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

Monday, Oct. 29
Scenic Regional Library
503 S. Olive St., Owensville

Tuesday, Oct. 30
Morgan County Library
600 N. Hunter St., Versailles

Thursday, Nov. 1
Citizen’s Civic League Hall
301 Olive St., Meta

State Parks is slated to make a decision by the end of the year.  The Rock Island Trail is not a sure thing.  We must convince the state that this trail will have huge economic, health, and tourism benefits for our trail towns and the state of Missouri.  Comments to State Parks are needed that provide action statements, such as willing to volunteer, donate, etc.

Please drop by one or more of these meetings and help us push this issue forward.  Thank you so much for your support!  Wear your RIT t-shirt if you have one.  Rails to Trails Conservancy is providing t-shirts which will be given out to trail supporters.
